Our progress thus far

Today's mission trip was rather fruitful because we had time to practice our testimony sharing, did our EBS lesson & also practiced on the creative evangelism.

Iris also splitted us in2 different groups. We were splitted up based on our language abilities. Each group will have one person strong in Mandarin, one person strong in Cantonese. It was very interesting that for eg Lonnie, Roy, Liling & Daniel/Jieying are the experts in Cantonese but can't read Chinese very well while me, Dezhang, Chin Ho are better in Mandarin but speak/understand little Cantonese. So we are really complementing each other in terms of our language skills!

Reminds me of the verse in Romans 12:4-5

For as in one body we have many members, and the members do not all have the same function, so we, though many, are one body in Christ, and individually members one of another.

Indeed all of us play different roles & functions. The most important thing is to see that we all work together for the sake of Christ!

The date of the mission trip is really drawing near. We are sending out our PSS this week. I really hope that many will give towards this trip. Am more excited as we approach the days ahead... :)

3rd meeting

Lei Sek Bao Mei?

Ha, that means "have you eaten?" in Cantonese. Today, Lonnie taught us on conversational Cantonese & we had quite a bit of fun though was abit stressful at times thinking how to cope with the language barriers.

He warned us to pronounce the words properly otherwise we might be actually spouting vulgarities! Oops..

So now, we need to continue speaking more Cantonese & Mandarin.

I just realised that I need to teach the group creative evangelism methods as well! But I have till next Sat to prepare..Really quite a lot of stuff hope we can finish it up all.

Progress thus far

I missed the 2nd mission trip meeting so Daniel met up with me today 2 run through some stuff.Basically was the words - how to say them in Cantonese. Think it's really gonna be not easy so PLEASE PRAY FOR ME!!!

Also helped him 2 translate his testimony into Mandarin. I think so far progress has been quite good for our team. Yesterday night was very glad that all the poly people were praying for us. I hope they will continue 2 pray for us & even support us in the work.

I thank God that my father is willing 2 pay for the $600 I'm supposed 2 raise. But I will continue to appeal to others becos there's 8 of us on the trip(the students) & i think it will not be easy for some of 'em to actually be able to raise enough funds.

Tmr is the third meeting where we will practice more on the language & following week will be my turn to teach EBS in Chinese!!!!

Woahh.. very fast! It's drawing so near!
